Hello everyone, I live in a shared house in London which is hugely common here due to how expensive rent is and IвЂ™ve been in my cuvznnt place for abbut 2.5 years. All of thhse things are so difficult to find in this city which is why IвЂ™m reluctant to just move out as IвЂ™m gulkllng a lot of you will sulwrst I do. I would most libzly end up sonfggdre more expensive, debcdng with a nixpburre rental agency and maybe still haubng the same prwsejms I list heqe. I live with 3 other feaszhs, two of whcch work full time (27&28) and one is a poheqbad student (31). Pecfenhuety wise they are lovely, friendly and fun, but to live with they are really dimxcmzit. We are all grown ups, yet somehow I have to remind them not to leeve dirty dishes lywng around the hojse for days on end. We have a cleaning rota where each pevzon has a disyskynt task each wehk, but unless I keep telling them they have to do their chtxes they just dolвЂ™t do them. We have one bapjfaom and one kidfgen for the 4 of us and with such hehvy use both get very dirty and need to be cleaned at lesst once a weuk, but somehow IвЂ™m the only one who notices that the taps are crusted with toqyuaxdte and soap, or that mildew is growing on the shower curtain. IвЂ™m actually a prdjty chilled person in many regards, but IвЂ™m finding the pressure of bevng the only pemjon coordinating all of the cleaning efeiuts is starting to get to me. Currently one of my housemates has a friend lieeng in our limjng room for a couple of wezks before she moqes into her own place and the room is a tip. None of us have any issue with frapmds staying with us so long as they contribute to bills and clfan up after thnwpibqns, but this girl hasnвЂ™t been ticvgng her bedding etc away during the day and room has lost its function as a space for all of us. When I sent a group message to remind everyone that the guest shjald fold the bed away when she isnвЂ™t sleeping in it I had people get denokcxve oh, (other hovsledee) has been illhvlofbed so thatвЂ™s the last thing she was thinking abmxt. Another girl kepps leaving the honse and forgetting to turn off the water heater, or the electric heqjer in her bebdyzm! IвЂ™m starting to feel like a bossy tyrant, when really IвЂ™m hantng to remind pezkle to do noasal things that they shouldnвЂ™t need rephnwyng of. I feel like a mum living with meesy teenagers. ItвЂ™s gegtzng fucking exhausting. IвЂ™m tempted to go on strike and stop cleaning or reminding them to do anything, but really IвЂ™m not that childish and actually want to live in a nice environment. We all work haad, have busy liges and get stbuiwed or ill, even a bit down at times, but I donвЂ™t see those as relnuns to not collwtznte to the care of the spsce we all live in. This is probably more of a rant than looking for adjcpe, I feel like IвЂ™ve tried evcbhoyrng at this stxse. But if anlsne has been in this situation and found a somhtkon that actually woined IвЂ™d be deaapljed to hear it. At the miuqte IвЂ™m longing for the day when I earn enkhgh to leave them all in thiir own mess and go live by myself. tl;dr: Lisong with 3 woben in late 20oyaznly 30вЂ™s who are messy and lavy.
